About Huddersfield

Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, is home to football team Huddersfield Town, also known as the terriers. Furthermore, it is also home to the Rugby League Super League team the Huddersfield Giants. Both the football team and the rugby team play in the John Smiths Stadium which is to the east of the city centre.

Just off the M62 Motorway Huddersfield is well connected to Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds providing an ideal base for businesses and family life.

Huddersfield’s claims to fame include Labour Prime Minister Harold Wilson, and the film stars James Mason and Patrick Stewart. Huddersfield also was home to the long running BBC comedy show Last Of The Summer Wine. This popular TV series was filmed nearby, predominately in the Holme Valley around Holmfirth, but also some parts of the Colne Valley including Marsden and Slaithwaite.

Huddersfield has an abundance of Victorian architecture. The most conspicuous landmark is the Victoria Tower on Castle Hill. Huddersfield is now a vibrant town with excellent shopping, bars and cafes to enjoy.
