About Leeds

The city of Leeds, is West Yorkshire’s biggest city and the fourth largest city in the UK behind London, Birmingham and Manchester. Leeds has now been known for some years as the financial capital of the north of England contributing £13 billion to the city’s economy.

However, a new documentary argues that the first film was shot in Leeds in 1888 in Roundhay, a suburb of Leeds. It is said that its maker disappeared before he could claim his place in cinema history.
