5 Benefits of a Mains Fed Water Cooler

5 Benefits of a Mains Fed Water Cooler.

In the world of water coolers you will come across two main types of systems; Bottle fed water coolers and mains fed water coolers. Both pretty much serve the same purpose but both do have their advantages and disadvantages. The benefits of each can mainly depend on your requirements as a business or home.

Here at Active Water Coolers we are actually moving away from supplying bottled water coolers to our customers. More news on this to come, but in the meantime, here are our 5 top reasons for investing on a mains fed water cooler:-

1. Plastic Bottles
Let’s start with the biggest and most important benefit of a mains fed water cooler. Due to the fact they are plumbed into the water mains, there is no need for the large water bottles that are traditionally used to provide water to the cooler. Most water cooler companies will re-use the water bottles which does decrease the amount of plastic bottles being produced but it does not solve the issue of the impact they have on the environment and human health. This is why we’re working towards completely eradicating bottle fed coolers from our product list. After all, if you’re going to do what you can to reduce plastic waste within your business, you have to go all out, right?

2. Infinite Water Supply
‘Mains Fed’ does what it says on the tin. This means the water cooler is plumbed into the mains water feed, providing constant and infinite water. However, you’re not just dispensing the mains water! The water cooler will use a special filtering process to ensure the amount of chemicals and bacteria that can be found in tap water are massively reduced. There are several filters that can be used in a water cooler to purify your water and the correct will be recommended on purchasing your mains fed water cooler.

3. Storage
It’s not common that companies or homes don’t consider the space that the water bottles can take up when opting for a bottle fed water cooler. The standard bottles hold 19 litres of water and when you have several of these needing to be stored you can find yourself using up valuable space.  The majority of mains fed water coolers do not need any extra space other than for the water cooler itself. Only if you opt for systems like the EZYTAP will you need to consider some extra storage.

4. Health & Safety
With a plumbed in water cooler you don’t only have filtered water on tap but you also have the advantage of not needing to do anything to keep that water flowing. With a bottle fed water cooler you’ll be lifting heavy bottles up to chest height to install it into the top of the machine. With so many workplaces having to follow strict health and safety policies  you maybe putting your workers at risk by allowing them to lift unnecessary and cumborsome water bottles.

5. Cost Effective
The truly great thing about a mains fed water cooler is that once you purchased or signed up to rent a specific machine you won’t be faced with having to pay more for future water bottles. Businesses do end up realising that they need more water than they thought. It can be trial an error before the correct amount of bottles are decided on per delivery and this can be a drain on time and money.
